Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist at ourAmsterdam HQ, 32–40 hours,who can start in January 2027.

What our Payroll Specialists do

• Own payroll for assigned markets manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, from collecting inputs such as store working hours and HR mutations to preparing vendor inputs and thoroughly checking payroll outputs
• Analyse payroll variationsand investigate differences to ensure payroll is accurate, complete, and processed on time
• Complete payroll closing activities including reconciliations, journal creation, pension registrations, and related checks,
• Ensure statutory complianceby understanding and applying local payroll legislation, Collective Labour Agreements, and other relevant regulations across your assigned markets
• Act as a key point of contact for store managers, employees, external payroll providers, and tax authorities regarding payroll-related questions
• Support payroll administrationincluding pensions, correspondence from tax authorities, and other employee-related statutory requirements
• Drive continuous improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline manual workflows, optimise systems, and improve the scalability of our payroll processes
• Contribute to strategic projectsthat support the growth and development of the payroll function
• Support the Finance teamduring annual audits by providing relevant payroll documentation and explanations
• Collaborate across HR, Finance, and Operations to improve processes, solve issues, and ensure a smooth payroll experience for our employees

You have

• 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in an international or multi-country European environment
• A relevant educational background in HR, Finance, Payroll, or a PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) qualification is a plus
• Strong technical curiosity you want to understand the payroll logic and statutory rules behind the numbers rather than simply following a checklist
• Excellent attention to detailand the ability to maintain high-quality standards while working under deadline pressure
• A solution-oriented mindsetand the confidence to work independently on both routine and non-routine payroll questions
• A proactive approach to problem solving you research available resources and come to the table with potential solutions
• Strong stakeholder management skillsand the ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, store operations, external providers, and other stakeholders
• Adaptability and resiliencein a fast-changing environment, including evolving systems, processes, and responsibilities
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills andexperience working with HRIS and payroll systems
• The ability to work from or commute to our Amsterdam HQ

• The salary range for this role is €50,000 – €60,000 grossper year based on full-time, including 8% holiday allowance. The salary within this range depends on experience.
