Payroll Processing Associate
Contract Length: 1 year
Pay Rate: $18.00–$18.78/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Flexibility: Some overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs. Advance notice will be provided when possible.
Job Summary
The Payroll Processing Associate will support payroll operations by processing manual check requests and working with internal and external contacts to help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Training will be provided on company payroll systems and internal web-based applications. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

Process payroll-related transactions, including manual check requests.

Work with Time and Labor systems and other internal web-based applications and platforms.

Review payroll information and communications from management to identify and resolve payroll-related issues.

Handle confidential payroll and employee information appropriately.

Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts regarding payroll matters.

Support both union and non-union wage plans; training will be provided.

Perform accurate data entry using Microsoft Office applications.

Use 10-key and keyboarding skills to process information efficiently with minimal errors.

Work collaboratively within a team environment.

Adapt to changing priorities and urgent payroll needs.
Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.

Accurate data-entry and keyboarding skills.

10-key proficiency.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling payroll and employee information.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Dependable, positive, and eager to learn.

Flexibility to work outside the regularly scheduled shift when business needs require.

Payroll experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule Requirements
The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Scheduled hours may vary depending on business needs. Some overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required, with advance notice provided when possible.
