Payroll Analyst

We are seeking an experiencedPayroll Analyst who brings deep, hands-on payroll knowledge and is comfortable working across multiple payroll systems. This position requires someone who understands the mechanics behind payroll, not simply someone who has processed payroll.

Duties:

• Plan, develop, and implement payroll analysis processes in accordance with company objectives and client needs.
• Review and analyze payroll records, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and other payroll data for accuracy.
• Prepare detailed payroll summaries and reports to evaluate employee and employer payroll activity.
• Identify, classify, and accurately code payroll deductions, including pre-tax and post-tax deductions.
• Create and run mock payrolls to validate calculations, deductions, tax treatment, and proposed payroll changes prior to implementation.
• Navigate and analyze payroll information across multiple payroll platforms and providers.
• Reconcile payroll data, identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate calculations and coding.
• Work closely with internal tax, benefits, insurance, and client-facing teams to support the implementation of advanced tax and financial strategies.
• Quickly learn and navigate new payroll systems based on individual client needs.

Qualifications Preferred:

• 3+ years of payroll analysis and/or payroll processing experience preferred.
• Experience preparing and analyzing payroll summaries.
• Strong experience coding payroll deductions and understanding pre-tax and post-tax treatment.
• Hands-on experience creating and reviewing mock payrolls.
• Experience working with 5 or more payroll platforms required.
• Experience with platforms such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Paylocity, Paycom, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, Dayforce, or similar systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple client payroll environments, and quickly learn new systems.
