POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for salaried and hourly employees. This role administers all aspects of the payroll cycle, supports year-end payroll activities and statutory reporting requirements, maintains payroll records and reconciliations, and ensures compliance with applicable Canadian payroll legislation. The Payroll Administrator collaborates with internal stakeholders and external agencies to support payroll operations and deliver high-quality service
QUALIFICATIONS
· Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or currently working toward the certification.
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Canadian payroll.
· Experience or knowledge of the complete payroll cycle for salaried and hourly employees, from employee setup through year-end.
· Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll system.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Basic knowledge of year-end production and filing requirements, including T4, T4A, T4A-NR, NR4, RL-1, and RL-2 slips and related summaries.
· Good accounting knowledge, including payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
· Ability to research Canadian and U.S. employer and employee payroll requirements, as needed.
· Knowledge of monthly workers’ compensation reporting requirements in Ontario and British Columbia is an asset.
· Knowledge of year-end CNESST, Employer Health Tax (EHT), WCB Ontario, WorkSafeBC, and WorkplaceNL reporting is strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of U.S. state payroll processing, including Form W-2 and Form 1099-MISC, is preferable.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and the ability to use online resources effectively.
· Knowledge of JDE (PeopleSoft) HR and accounting systems, or comparable systems, is preferable.
· Team-oriented, reliable, adaptable, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
· Strong communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
LANGUAGES
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
