The Company

PayPal has been revolutionizing commerce globally for more than 25 years. Creating innovative experiences that make moving money, selling, and shopping simple, personalized, and secure, PayPal empowers consumers and businesses in approximately 200 markets to join and thrive in the global economy.

We operate a global, two-sided network at scale that connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers. We help merchants and consumers connect, transact, and complete payments, whether they are online or in person. PayPal is more than a connection to third-party payment networks. We provide proprietary payment solutions accepted by merchants that enable the completion of payments on our platform on behalf of our customers.

We offer our customers the flexibility to use their accounts to purchase and receive payments for goods and services, as well as the ability to transfer and withdraw funds. We enable consumers to exchange funds more safely with merchants using a variety of funding sources, which may include a bank account, a PayPal or Venmo account balance, PayPal and Venmo branded credit products, a credit card, a debit card, certain cryptocurrencies, or other stored value products such as gift cards, and eligible credit card rewards.  Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Our beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.  We live each day guided by our core values of Inclusion, Innovation, Collaboration, and Wellness. Together, our values ensure that we work together as one global team with our customers at the center of everything we do – and they push us to ensure we take care of ourselves, each other, and our communities.

About our team:

PayPal is redefining how the world moves money, and our Global Billing and Payment team sits at the operational core of supporting that mission. The Global Billing and Payments team manages the end-to-end order-to-cash invoicing lifecycle for PayPal, spanning invoicing and revenue reporting, accounts receivable and cash application, and business and audit support across a global B2B merchant and partner base. The team operates at high volume and scale, driving accuracy, timeliness, and controls across billing, soft collections, and AR reconciliation functions worldwide.

AsGlobal Billing Operations Process owner, you will support a global team of analysts across the US and India, owning the execution and continuous improvement of invoicing and billing process operations — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a high-volume, multi-currency portfolio.

This role is for a people-first operator: someone who can support stakeholders across time zones, resolve operational complexity through the team, and serve as the senior point of escalation for billing issues across the business; collaborating with billing engineers to quickly drive and resolve issues.  You will coordinate across integrations, business unit partners, Customer Service, and Accounting — managing a work stream responsible for processing timely invoices, triaging escalations, resolving billing exceptions, while keeping the team aligned and effective across a globally distributed operating model.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end global invoice generation, delivery, and reconciliation across merchant and partner billing segments — ensuring accuracy, completeness, and SLA compliance across all billing cycles.
  • Ensure seamless operational handoffs and consistent execution standards across US and India teams; establishing shared workflows, escalation protocols, and coverage models that support global billing continuity.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for billing inquiries and escalations from business unit partners — owning resolution workflows end-to-end and ensuring the team has the tools and context to handle first and second line escalations independently.
  • Leverage AI tools, including large language model-based analysis, to interrogate high-volume billing datasets, identify exception patterns, and embed repeatable controls into billing operational reviews.
  • Partner with Finance Technology, Product, and Engineering to support billing system integrations and platform changes — evaluating downstream invoicing impact, coordinating UAT, and ensuring the team is operationally ready at go-live.
  • Maintain a structured issue log and triage framework for billing operational incidents
  • Define and report on key operational metrics, presenting insights to senior leadership
  • Support SOX key controls requests related to invoice and billing reporting, coordinate with your team on audit preparation and evidence collection for PwC review cycles.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in billing, or OTC operations in a complex, high-volume environment
  • Deep expertise in invoicing systems, revenue workflows, and billing controls
  • Working knowledge of B2B billing models including subscription, SaaS, gross settlement, financial services; along with familiarity around e-invoicing requirements for various global regions.
  • Experience evaluating billing impact of product or engineering changes
  • Demonstrated ability to triage and manage operational issues across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Strong organizational skills — comfortable owning issue logs, team SOPs, and operational documentation in parallel
  • Proficiency with billing or ERP platforms (SAP S4, Kenan FX, or equivalent)
  • Experience with billing automation, RPA, or AI-assisted reconciliation tools
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to translate data into operational decisions
  • Familiarity with SOX controls in a billing or AR context
  • 3+ years in people management within a global environment (preferred)
  • Experience in FinTech, payments, or two-sided marketplace billing models (preferred)
  • Familiarity with PayPal's product ecosystem (preferred)
  • Background in agile or working directly with engineering groups (preferred)
  • CPA, CA, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification (preferred)
