Job Description

The Payment Sales Consultant is responsible for developing and growing Payments, Merchant Services, and Commercial Card business within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) segment of the Institutional Client Group (ICG). This role partners with financial institution clients, including banks, insurers, asset managers, and private capital firms, to identify opportunities, deliver strategic payment solutions, and drive revenue growth across a high-potential client portfolio.

 

The position requires strong enterprise sales skills and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving Payments Partnerships, Treasury, Finance, Operations, and Product teams. Key focus areas include embedded payments, FBO (For Benefit Of) account structures, virtual accounts, and ecommerce and marketplace solutions.

 

Serving as the primary sales quarterback, the PSC coordinates across Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Commercial Cards, and product specialists to deliver integrated solutions that address client needs and support long-term growth. The role is responsible for managing existing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, developing sales strategies, presenting solutions, and achieving assigned sales and revenue goals.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of related sales, treasury management, or payments experience
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, consultative sales engagements with multiple decision-makers

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of treasury management, payment, merchant, and commercial card solutions
  • Experience calling on financial institutions and understanding their payments ecosystem
  • Familiarity with embedded payments, FBO structures, virtual accounts, and ecommerce/marketplace solutions
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong business development, relationship management, and consultative selling skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across product, treasury, merchant, and commercial card teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $131,670.00 - 160,930.00
