Patient Access Liaison II
Pay Rate: $21.00–$21.99/hour, paid weekly
Assignment: 13-week contract-to-hire with potential for extension or permanent placement
Schedule: Candidates must be available for staggered shifts between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM. Optional weekend work and overtime may occasionally be available.
Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with required onsite availability

Overview
The Patient Access Liaison II serves as a primary point of contact for patients seeking access to medical services. This position handles high-volume patient communication, appointment scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and general patient support.
Strong phone communication, customer service, multitasking, and reliability are critical for success in this role.
Remote & Onsite Requirements
This position is primarily remote, but candidates must be able to report onsite when requested.
Onsite attendance may be required for:

Equipment pickup and return.

Training or department meetings.

Equipment troubleshooting or replacement.

Internet or power outages.
-
Performance coaching or corrective action.
-
Other operational needs.
Equipment will not be shipped. Employees must pick up equipment onsite on their first day and return it onsite when the assignment ends.
Candidates do not need to live in Los Angeles but must be able to reliably commute onsite when required. Candidates throughout Orange County, Long Beach, Riverside, and surrounding areas may be considered.
There may be situations requiring employees to work onsite for multiple consecutive days.
Responsibilities

Answer, screen, and route incoming and outgoing patient calls.

Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, text, and web-based communication systems.

Schedule and confirm new and follow-up patient appointments.

Register patients and accurately enter demographic information.

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.

Communicate estimated patient financial responsibility.
-
Maintain accurate patient records and data integrity.
-
Reconcile and update patient information as needed.

Route messages to providers and clinical staff.
-
Provide professional, confidential, and customer-focused patient service.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

At least 2 years of combined call center, customer service, and/or healthcare experience.

Strong attendance and demonstrated reliability.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
-
Professional phone etiquette and active listening skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to learn and navigate multiple computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare or patient access experience.

Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.

Familiarity with health insurance plans and benefits.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience with medical scheduling or practice management systems.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Chinese, or another language.
