Parts Manager Responsibilities:Directs and schedules the work of all parts department employeesAuthorize preliminary payroll hours in accordance to employee working scheduleForecasts goals and objectives for the department including required inventory, pricing, ROI and profit marginsPrepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts departmentAnalyzes sales, expenses, and inventory on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to maintain profit goalsMonitors employee's daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll recordsMaintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the “self-service” retail customerEstablishes pricing parameters in each category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.  Implements aggressive marketing and sales promotions plans to increase parts department business for wholesale accounts and “self-service” retail customersTakes advantage of manufacturers' inventory co-op advertising as part of promotionsCoordinates marketing and sales promotions with appropriate company personnelEstablishes individual parts inventory levels and manages the inventory to achieve maximum turnover in accordance with established goalsMonitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence of parts in inventoryEnsures that all parts are tagged so that the dealership recovers credit from the factoryControls accounts receivables for parts departmentMonitors and maintains Parts Department GL schedulesMonitors and approves Parts Department Audit ExceptionsEnsures that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.Works with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobsAnalyzes departmental operations and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness of inventory control, staff efficiency and public displayDirects parts delivery program to wholesale customersMaintains delivery vehicles for delivery programDirects shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing of parts being received and parts being delivered Establishes and maintains a program to ensure customer satisfaction and loyaltyPromptly follows up on customer concerns and complaints. Uses empathy, technical expertise and understanding of company policies to resolve complaints and ensure customer satisfaction and loyaltyEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with other service drive departments and the sales departmentEstablishes and maintains good working relationships with wholesale customers to encourage repeat and referral business.Develops promotions to increase wholesale business.Follows up on parts department orders to ensure parts availability in inventory and ensures availably of all required parts and supplies to complete repairs in a timely mannerChecks quality of completed work by parts department employees to ensure quality customer service, inventory control and documentation.Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out completely and legibly, and filed or distributed to the appropriate partiesReview all accounts payables for department to ensure appropriate payments are made for parts inventory including parts are received and accounted for in accordance with dealership policies and departmental proceduresUnderstands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect parts operations including but not limited to hazardous waste disposal, emergency response and OSHA Right-to-KnowEnsures that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly by all employees in the parts departmentFacilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as neededKeeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchasesEnsures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept cleanFollows all attendance and punctuality standards and adheres to timekeeping standardsFollows the Company Code of Business Ethics and ConductUnderstands and follows all work rules and follows lawful directions from SupervisorsUpholds the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsMaintains a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policyAttends pertinent training on requestAttends company meetings as requiredOther duties as assigned Parts Manager Requirements:High school diploma or the equivalentFive-year related experience in management role or equivalent.Minimum of one year’s experience working in the service drive or at an auto parts retailer or wholesaler. IND-PARTSReady to Join?Apply now to learn more about what Premier Truck Group has to offer!
