Opportunity Overview
Overview:
The Partnership Strategy & Accounting area within the Finance Division collaborates across the firm to design and deliver partnership models that support the firm’s goal of being the premier destination for financial advisors to start, grow, optimize, and pass on a practice. The team partners closely with financial advisors, outside advisors, product teams, and other firm stakeholders to build projections, develop educational resources, and support informed business decisions.
The Partner Compensation Modeling Leader provides strategic direction, people leadership, and delivery oversight for a team of four Strategy Analysts performing advanced compensation modeling and financial analysis. The leader is accountable for the quality, consistency, and business impact of the team’s work, while serving as a senior partnership subject matter expert and trusted advisor to firm leaders and financial advisors.
What you'll do:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of four Strategy Analysts, setting clear priorities, allocating work, providing timely feedback, and building the team’s financial, consulting, and presentation capabilities.
Own the team’s portfolio of compensation modeling, partner affiliation analysis, forecasting, and practice-valuation work, ensuring outputs are accurate, well-controlled, scalable, and decision-ready.
Establish standards and review processes for advisor-facing modeling tools, projections, analyses, presentations, and educational resources.
Translate firm strategy into team priorities, business requirements, analytical frameworks, and executable work plans.
Serve as a senior partnership subject matter expert, advising financial advisors and firm stakeholders on the economic implications of partnership and affiliation alternatives.
Communicate financial analysis and other strategic information (including economic trade-offs) to financial advisors in partner models.
Partner with Product Teams in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new affiliation model compensation capabilities, solutions, and educational experiences.
Identify opportunities with broad impact and visibility, frame the business case, recommend solutions, and lead implementation through completion.
Champion the innovation and evolution of processes, controls, data, tools, and team operating practices to meet changing business needs and increasing organizational complexity.
Manage competing priorities and emerging requests while maintaining transparency on capacity, timing, risks, and expected outcomes.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team environment that supports sound judgment, continuous learning, and high-quality execution.
Position Requirements
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, data science, analytics, or a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
Progressive experience in financial analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, strategy, compensation, or a related field, including demonstrated experience leading people or complex work through others.
Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills, with the judgment to challenge assumptions, interpret results, and connect analysis to business decisions.
Ability to lead, coach, and develop experienced professionals while establishing accountability for quality, collaboration, and outcomes.
Ability to prioritize a portfolio of concurrent work, make trade-offs, and adjust quickly as business needs change.
Ability to translate business strategy into clear requirements, analytical approaches, team priorities, and implementation plans.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
Working knowledge of accounting processes, key tax principles, and financial statements.
Ability to communicate complex financial information and strategic concepts clearly to financial advisors and senior and executive leaders.
Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries, navigate differing perspectives, and drive decisions without relying solely on formal authority.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment while exercising independent judgment.
What could set you apart:
Experience leading teams responsible for compensation, partnership economics, affiliation models, practice valuation, or advisor-facing financial consulting.
A CPA license, advanced degree, or other relevant professional credential.
Working knowledge of agile product management and experience partnering with digital product teams.
Proficiency with business intelligence and data-transformation tools such as Power BI and Power Query.
- Experience implementing governance, controls, and quality-review practices for sophisticated financial models and decision-support tools.
