SAP FICO Architect

We're looking for anSAP FICO Architect to join our team in Spain in a remote working mode. In this role, you will lead finance and controlling architecture design for SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, ensuring governance, fit-gap analysis, and alignment with organizational change and business objectives. You will engage with stakeholders to define business requirements, develop R2R processes, and support pre-sales and strategic roadmap activities while introducing innovation to maximize SAP capabilities.

This role provides the opportunity to act as a trusted advisor in financial transformation, Clean Core adoption, and enterprise-wide SAP enablement, influencing decisions that shape customer roadmaps and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Govern SAP pre-sales and implementation projects, ensuring architecture consistency and alignment
• Conduct business requirements analysis, fit-gap assessment, and define process optimization opportunities
• Provide expertise in Record-to-Report (R2R) domain, including functional designs and enabler identification
• Define architecture governance models, methodologies, and roadmaps for SAP solutions
• Lead customer engagement to integrate business, data, application, and technical architecture domains
• Support account planning activities and act as a trusted advisor in solution discovery discussions
• Create and maintain customer roadmaps, ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA and R2R enhancements
• Present SAP features and innovations tailored to customer needs
• Stay updated on SAP trends and contribute to innovation initiatives for financial transformation
• Provide effort estimation relating to architectural design, solution configuration, and improvements

Requirements

• Experience in SAP FICO architecture and solution design across finance and controlling domains
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling functionality
• Knowledge of Record-to-Report (R2R) processes including budgeting, cost allocation, and fast close methods
• Ability to assess customer landscapes, identify solution gaps, and define architecture strategies
• Expertise in developing finance-related business architecture and technical roadmaps
• Strong communication skills for engaging both IT and business stakeholder groups
• Familiarity with SAP delivery methodologies and digital transformation frameworks

Nice to have

• High-level knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Logistics, Central Finance (CFin), PaPM, BPC, IBP
• Understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting processes and principles
• Previous experience with pre-sales, solution discovery, and account planning for IT services
• Awareness of frameworks such as PMP, SAP Design Thinking, TOGAF
