Capitola Surgery Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and skilled
PACU Supervisor to lead our PACU nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from surgery. As the PACU Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the PACU, supporting and mentoring staff, and ensuring that patients receive optimal care during their recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Provide leadership and direction to PACU nursing staff, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and quality patient care. Serve as a mentor and resource for nurses and other staff.
- Patient Care: Oversee and assist in the assessment, monitoring, and management of patients post-surgery, including pain management, airway management, and assessment of vital signs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to ensure safe and coordinated care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Staffing & Scheduling: Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient needs. Help manage the scheduling of nursing staff and coordinate breaks and handoffs.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain compliance with center policies, regulatory standards, and infection control protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety audits.
- Education & Training: Lead and contribute to ongoing training for the PACU team, ensuring staff stay current with best practices, new technologies, and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) License: Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in CA.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a PACU or critical care nursing environment. Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
- Certification: BLS, PALS and ACLS certification required.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills. Ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position pays a competitive rate of $78.00 β 93.00 per hour depending on the level of experience.Β We offer a full suite of benefits including 401k with company match, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as voluntary Aflac plans.Β We have a generous PTO schedule and our staff enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule with no on-call requirements.
