JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the Corporate Global Marketing and External Affairs Internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience in areas such as Corporate Marketing, Citizenship and Sustainability, Public Affairs, and Social/Digital and Sponsorships to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Abbott hires students majoring in many areas, like marketing, communication, based on the business need. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with creative problem-solving abilities.

This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. The intern will gain the knowledge necessary to be successful in their future.

Potential Job responsibilities
- Support marketing campaign planning and execution
- Support development of marketing communication materials
- Participate in brand architecture and design work
- Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels
- Develop communications plans for major initiatives
- Learn about citizenship and sustainability efforts
- Support key sponsorship programs
- Take part in formal and informal training opportunities
- Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives

- 12-week program.
- Paid Internship.
- Housing & transportation provided (if meet criteria).
- One-on-one mentorship across various levels and experiences.
- Meaningful project work and skill development to be implemented across the Abbott Global Marketing and External Affairs team.
- Internship’s location: Abbott Park, IL.

Basic Qualifications
·        Completed at least two-three years of college education before beginning internship.
·        Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship.
·        Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferable in marketing, communications or related fields.
·        Applied understanding of basic marketing and communications principles.
·        Familiarity with major social media platforms
·        Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications
·        Strong academic performance (GPA = 3.0/4.0)
·        Desire to work in the healthcare field.
·        Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

The base pay for this position is
$16.85 – $33.75/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
