ABOUT THE ROLE

TYPE OF SUPERVISION:   

Receive​close supervision​from the​Program Director, MSW​. 

• ​​Close Supervision—indicates that the incumbent is assigned duties accordingto specific procedures. Work ischeckedfrequently, and in addition there may be formal training.​ 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

​​Outreach & Recruitment 

• ​Collaborate with Strategic Partnership team to perform outreach in underserved California communities, publicize the MSW program, and recruit students from underrepresented populations​ 

• Engage in targeted recruitment for field placement opportunities in students’ local communities supporting students inlocating field sites.

Field Placement Coordination & Student Support 

• ​​Coordinate field placement process forstudents and ensure that applicable students are placed atappropriate field sites that satisfy the Field Program guidelines and HCAI grant’s criteria. 
  ​ 

• Provide guidance to students inlocating fieldsites.Serve as university liaison and representative around field placement inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. 

• Monitor field agencies to ensure proper supervision and task assignment to students in practicum roles. 

• Respond to field placement questions from students, site supervisors, and agency directors.  

• Troubleshoot student placement issues in coordination with the field director/assistant field director, field instructors, field practicumspecialist and other university staff/faculty.  

• Inform students, directors of sites, and site supervisors about field policies,procedures and expectations.

• Identify and assessagencies in underserved California communities to serve as field placement sites for MSW students. 

• Track andmaintain data on student intern placements by term in coordination with the Field Director

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSES: 

• Master ofSocial Work degree from a CSWE-accreditedMSWprogram 

• Prefer 2+years post-master's experience placing MSW students for field practicumin a university online platform 

• Prefer some experienceengaging in outreach or student recruitmentevents  

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• ​Knowledge of academic processes in college/university setting. 

• ​Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. 

• ​Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• ​Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) 

• ​Able toleverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Grammarly, or similar) to improve productivity, streamline communication, draft content, summarize information, and support day-to-day administrative tasks 

• ​Ability to exercise independent judgment,demonstrate tact and diplomacy, andmaintaina high level of confidentiality. 

• ​Ability toproblem solve, troubleshoot, and work under pressure. 

• ​Ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment. 

• ​Substantial experience in an academic environment is desired.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software: ​Strong competence inMicrosoft Office is expected. Knowledge of SharePoint andSonia is preferred.​

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Working conditions aregenerallynormal for an office environment. Position may berequired to work flexible hours given the variedavailabilities of field site agency personnel and other stakeholders.California residency is required,as  travel withinCalifornia  isrequiredapproximately 1-4 times ayear. Applicants for this position are subject to a background check and a criminal history review.  

The hiring range for this position is$25.00-$30.00 an hour. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographical location, knowledge, skills, years
