ABOUT THE ROLE
Caring for others is more than a job - it’s a calling. As a Home Care Worker under theSupport at Home program, you will play a vital role in supporting older people to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes.
This role focuses on deliveringperson-centred, flexible support that is tailored to each individual’s goals, preferences, and evolving needs. You will empower clients to maintain their independence, enhance their wellbeing, and stay connected to their community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Home Care Worker, you will deliver high-quality care and support aligned with each client’s individual support plan. Your responsibilities will include:
Providingdomestic assistance such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to support a safe and comfortable home environment
Assisting withpersonal care including showering, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Supporting clients withdaily living activities that promote independence and wellbeing
Assisting withtransportation and community access, including appointments, shopping, and social outings
Buildingstrong, respectful relationships with clients and their families
Encouragingchoice, control, and independence in line with Support at Home principles
Adhering tohealth, safety, and quality standards to ensure the wellbeing of clients and yourself

Essential RequirementsÂ
Certificate III in Aged, Community Care or equivalentÂ
Current driver licenseÂ
Reliable vehicle (including valid registration with minimal 3rd Party Insurance)Â
HomeCare experience Â
Current First Aid Certificate Â

You will haveÂ
An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation ArmyÂ
Motivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed careÂ
Strong customer service focus andgood time management skillsÂ
Ability to work independently and safely in a client’s homeÂ
Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken EnglishÂ
Computer literacy and experience with documentation  Â
