BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Serves as an internal consultant and institutional resource on Organization Development, Talent Management and Leadership Development including: team building, conflict resolution, change management, workforce development, leadership and other general organizational issues. Designs and delivers programs addressing the current and future state of the Dolly Children's’s culture. Key Measures being increase in retention and employee engagement.

Minimum Education:Bachelors degree required; Masters Degree Preferred
Degree:Degree in Human Resources, Education or Organizational Management
License/Certification Required:None
Minimum Work Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in adult education or organizational development required. Emphasis on experience with on boarding, employee experience and leadership development in a health care work place is desirable.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate methods of delivery of information and the ability to develop and facilitate relevant and effective education, information, etc. for adult learners.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to translate initiatives to organizational outcomes – retention, performance, workforce development
- Knowledge and experience with LMSs and regulatory compliance modules
- Other important skills include mentoring and fostering empowerment.
- Knowledge and experience with diversity and inclusion at an organizational level
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities with social media platforms and intranets
- Ability to function with little supervision in leading and managing strategic projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formalizes the organizational approach to maintaining a work culture that provides a work experience that increases employee retention and performance. Develops, conducts, and revises effective and relevant hospital orientation and on boarding programs to meet staff and organizational needs.
- Analyzes issues, trends, and supporting data to determine the needs of individuals, the organization, and related community groups in regards to the employee experience and employer brand
- Partners with Employment and Employee Relations on recruitment and retention as appropriate. Serves on committees internally and externally bringing their specific knowledge and skills to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Establishes detailed project plans that account for necessary on boarding, program development, key employee touch points, and delivery activities(design, development, delivery and measurement)
- Develops educational or informational programs that are appropriate for target audience, based on current research and standards, and incorporates appropriate teaching methods: Delivers presentations that are well-organized, relevant to the subject, and based on adult-learning principles
- Performs assessments through the collection of data and information related to positive work experience, educational/performance related needs
- When creating education and training, establishes a learning/teaching plan that prescribes strategies, alternatives, methodologies (both written and oral), and resources to achieve desired outcomes: Involves learners and stakeholders to identify desired outcomes. Implements plan and activities using principles of quality, project and systems management. Employs strategies and techniques to promote a positive learning and practice environment. Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals. Integrates research and evidence-based practice into practice.
- Collaborates with ODL Director in administering Computer-Based Learning Systems
- Tracks feedback and business needs to build improvements into Dolly Children's’s overall performance culture equipping leaders with the knowledge, abilities and processes that will create the necessary positive employee work experience; beginning with onboarding through employee cycle
- Collaborates with hiring managers, department heads across the organization to ensure new hires emerge from Dolly Children's’s on boarding program with an understanding of their department’s operations, their job functions and culture. Creates professional learning and development opportunities and identifies resources that promote professional career development and career advancement for leaders.
- Works with Human Resources and to improve, align and execute leadership development plans and programs with the required needs in talent management and acquisition, performance management, employee retention, knowledge transfer, and succession planning. Provides coaching, consultation and mentoring to influence plans, enhance the abilities of others and effect change.
- Coordinates educational initiatives and activities with department directors, leaders, and necessary stakeholders. Ensures educational needs of staff are met through development and implementation of continuing education programs and resources from on boarding throughout the employee career cycle.
- Establishes collegial partnerships contributing to the professional development of peers, students, colleagues, and others. Serves as a consultant for leadership on the development of annual educational and developmental strategic plan for their individual staff members. Actively participates in hospital committees and activities to assess on boarding and ongoing educational needs and provide training and development input. Collaborates with inter-professional teams, leaders, stakeholders, and others to facilitate positive outcomes
- Continuously displays a “can do” attitude within the department and across departmental lines to contribute to and enhance the effectiveness of others
- Partners with clinical educators where appropriate for commonality in processes, desired outcomes, documentation, etc.
- Provides feedback to appropriate partner in Human Resources and/or Organizational Development on new hire and staff in general’s experience during their career cycle. Participates in performance planning to align daily activities with dept and organizational strategic goals. Serves on the Best Places to Work Council at Large; serves as co-chair of the Retention Sub-Committee.
- Maintains current knowledge and competency in professional development practice through participation in continuing education activities. Creates workforce development learning opportunities and identify resources that promote professional career development and career advancement for staff. Maintains open communication using the appropriate chain of command regarding issues
- Willingly assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary
- Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably: Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in regard to professional development activities and expected outcomes. Contributes to the budget process through planning and requests for human, financial and material resources necessary to meet identified needs.
- Monitors on boarding and development initiatives effectiveness- retention, value, quality using quantitative and qualitative metrics. Assesses and measures ways to show evidence of ROI in programs and initiatives offered
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.Â
