The Order Entry Representative (OER) serves as the entry-level customer support role responsible for accurately processing customer orders and maintaining order data integrity. This position focuses on transactional activities including order entry, order acknowledgements, shipment releases, and customer inquiries regarding order status. The OER works closely with Customer Service Representatives, Operations, Planning, and Shipping teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
Responsibilities:
•Answer inbound calls and emails, and make outbound calls as appropriate
•Process customer purchase orders accurately and timely
•Generate order acknowledgements and maintain order documentation
•Perform order maintenance activities including updates, changes, and cancellations
•Monitor open orders and communicate status updates to customers
•Verify inventory availability and shipment information
• Respond to routine customer inquiries regarding order status
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure on-time order fulfillment
• Maintain data accuracy within ERP systems
• Escalate customer concerns and order discrepancies as appropriate
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
•High School graduate or equivalent; some college a plus
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
•Knowledge of computer system and ability to navigate email
•Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
•Experience with Order Entry and ERP planning systems
•Experience with high volume of data entry
•Must be very detail oriented and have a passion for accuracy and data integrity
•Must have the ability to communicate professionally and in writing
•Must have the ability to follow process and procedure
