Model Based – Design, Manufacturing & Inspection (MB-DMI) is a company-wide initiative to augment 3D models with formats that enable automated consumption in manufacturing business processes such as: Inspection programming, Tool Design, Work Instruction authoring, First Article Inspection, Process Capability Analysis monitoring & reporting, Physics based modeling, Material Review Board (MRB) for discrepant material. This effort is focused on creating the digital thread that supports efficient automated re-use of data across all these processes for internal and external producers.

We have an immediate opening for a Director, MB-DMI & MES within our Operations organization. Reporting directly to executive leadership for Digital Ops & Industry 4.0, this role will lead a high-performing team of managers, engineers, and systems architects to develop & deploy a model-driven digital thread in Operations and Supply Chain. The ideal candidate possesses an extensive track record of executive operational leadership, multi-site aerospace manufacturing experience, and a deep understanding of advanced digital tools and quality frameworks.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Leadership: Define, own, and execute the enterprise-wide roadmap for the MB-DMI and MES across all manufacturing sites, aligning technology investments with business unit production targets.
Operations & Capital Governance: Manage the capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational expense (OpEx) budgets for the digital manufacturing portfolio, ensuring clear ROI through shop-floor efficiency gains.
Organizational Change Management: Drive cultural and operational transformation across the plants, partnering with Site Directors and General Managers to align shop-floor leadership with digital thread initiatives.
Quality & Regulatory Oversight: Govern the strategic integration of QMS and MES environments to ensure flawless, automated regulatory compliance, zero-defect quality gates, and automated electronic production records.
Talent & Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional organization of manufacturing experts, systems engineers, and project managers.
Executive SteerCo & Reporting: Serve as the primary Operations representative on cross-business steering committees, presenting regular technical and financial progress updates to executive leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelors Degree and a minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience.

Onsite:Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
