Operations Technician II

SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS)

1.   Daily animal care activities to include: feeding, animal observations/identificationof clinicalconcerns,andnailtrimming

2.   Husbandryactivitiestoincludecagechange/cleaning,useofpowerwashandchemicaldispensingequipment,andgeneralfacilitysanitizationandsupport

3.   Milkingofrabbitsandstandardsupportactivitiestomeetproductiongoalsandadherencetoestablishedschedules

4.   Properrestraintof rabbits to facilitate generalanimal care, transfers,samplecollection,and advancedhandling(Alrestraint)

5.   TechnicalskillstoincludeIM,IV,SC,andIPinjections,andIVbloodcollectionprocedures

6.   Assessanimals,initiateveterinarycareandexecuteanimaltreatments

7.   Performanimalidentificationapplicationstoincludeeartags,tattoosandRFIDtransponders.

8.   May performand provide support, to include updating of records, for natural and artificialinseminationbreedingprocedures,pregnancypalpationandkindling/weaningprocedures.

9.   Utilize computer and paper-based systems to accurately document and/or recordinformationtoassurecompliancewithapplicableregulations,andcompanypolicies

10. HaveanunderstandingofapplicableQualitySystems(e.g.changecontrol,deviations).

11.Maywrite,modify,andprovidetraining(asassigned)onSOPs/WI/TM

12.Demonstratetheabilitytoworkonassignedprojectsindependentlywithlittleornosupervision.

13. Identifysafetyissuesandinitiatecorrectiveactionstoreachresolution

14. Identifyandcommunicateanimalwelfareconcerns

15. Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis.
