Job Description
Objective of the Job:Ensure policies, procedures and all activities are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives at the Hot Strip Mill on their respective crew assignments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Oversight of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements; follow BRS directives and comply with regulatory requirements within scope of responsibility.
2) Ensure all jobs are covered with documented trained personnel on their assigned crew.
3) Facilitate effective communication between their entire crew.
4) Coordinate with their respective crews on scheduling and operating practice improvements.
5) Support other departments as needed to strengthen BRS profitability and continual improvement efforts.Qualifications:
1) Strong leadership and conflict management skills
2) Good insight to team dynamics and a positive problem solver
3) Ability to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times and hold employees accountable for the same
4) High School diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus
5) Minimum of 2 year experience in a heavy manufacturing environment; Hot Mill experience required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position works in the Hot Strip Mill production areas, which are routinely hot environments with typical hours of rotating 12-hour shifts working weekends and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does supervise others.
