Job Summary
TheOperations Performance Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing data-driven tools, analytics, and processes that improve operational performance across the manufacturing network. This role will focus on increasing capacity utilization, establishing realistic production targets, improving schedule attainment, and accelerating service and backlog performance improvements.
Working closely with plant leadership, operations teams, materials management, and supply chain functions, the Operations Performance Specialist will transform operational data into actionable insights that support decision-making, identify constraints, and drive measurable business results. This position requires strong technical capabilities, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into practical actions that improve performance.
Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, capacity and production planning, service and backlog improvement, operations analytics and reporting, data management, SAP data utilization, statistical analysis, and continuous improvement support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop analytical tools and models to evaluate manufacturing capacity, bottlenecks, constraints, and throughput opportunities.
- Create standardized methodologies for determining realistic production targets based on available labor, equipment, material availability, and operational constraints.
- Conduct capacity analysis to identify opportunities to increase output and improve resource utilization across the manufacturing network.
- Partner with plant leadership teams to develop and maintain capacity plans that support customer demand and business objectives.
- Develop reporting and performance management tools to improve service levels, reduce backlog, and support recovery actions.
- Analyze demand, production, inventory, and order fulfillment data to identify root causes impacting customer service and delivery performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide data-driven recommendations to accelerate service recovery efforts.
- Support leadership teams with decision-making that improves on-time delivery, backlog reduction, schedule attainment, and production execution.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and data visualization tools usingPower BI and other reporting platforms.
- Automate manual reporting processes and improve data accessibility for plant and operations leadership.
- Develop standardized operational metrics and performance measurement systems to improve consistency across plants.
- Create predictive and statistical models to support operational planning, capacity analysis, schedule attainment, and decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and governance of operational data sources.
- Support the integration and utilization ofSAP data across reporting and analytical tools.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, reporting consistency, and decision-support capabilities.
- Apply statistical analysis techniques to identify trends, variation, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, performance measurement, and follow-up tracking.
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for plant and operations leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement teams to drive measurable business results.
- Promote a culture of accountability, operational discipline, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other operations analytics, reporting, and performance improvement duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex operational data and identify practical improvement actions.
- Demonstrated capability in capacity and constraints analysis, throughput evaluation, and production planning support.
- Strong statistical analysis skills, including process capability assessment, trend analysis, and variation analysis.
- Ability to design clear dashboards, scorecards, and visual reporting tools that support leadership decision-making.
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
- Demonstrated root cause analysis capability and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operational performance, customer service, inventory productivity, and financial impact.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work across Operations, Supply Chain, Materials, Engineering, Finance, and Continuous Improvement.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

- Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and shifting focus quickly as priorities change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with plant and operations leadership teams.

Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations through data analysis, reporting, or performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success developing analytical tools that drive measurable business results.
- Advanced SAP experience, including extraction and analysis of operational and manufacturing data.
- Advanced Power BI dashboard development and data visualization skills.
- Proficiency with Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software.
- Experience with SQL, Excel, and other business intelligence tools.
- Strong experience with manufacturing and operational data management.
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, inventory management, service metrics, schedule attainment, and backlog management.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, and performance measurement.
- Experience partnering with plant leadership, operations teams, materials management, and supply chain functions.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (required).
Required Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business analytics, data analytics, or related discipline.
- One (1) to five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business analytics, or related disciplines.
