Manufacturing Operations Manager Job in Naugatuck, CT:
Direct Hire Salary Range: $140-170,000
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead daily manufacturing and supply chain operations for a well-established, highly technical manufacturer serving industries including Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Quantum Computing, Test & Measurement, and other advanced technology markets.
This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing leader with a proven ability to improve operational performance, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery while building and developing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Operations Manager Job in Naugatuck, CT:
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across Production, Quality, Materials/Purchasing, Shipping, Tooling, Maintenance, and Facilities
- Establish operational priorities, KPIs, and accountability systems
- Drive improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, setup time, and schedule attainment
- Implement and strengthen Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Improve workflow, manufacturing processes, inventory management, and facility utilization
- Drive initiatives toward 99% on-time delivery
- Support compliance with ISO and/or AS9100 quality standards
- Partner with Quality leadership to improve KPIs, corrective actions, response times, and PPM performance
- Oversee production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supplier performance
- Support cost-reduction and supply-chain optimization initiatives
- Coach and develop managers, supervisors, and production personnel
- Identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership opportunities
- Partner with Human Resources on hiring, workforce planning, employee development, and performance management
- Promote a safe, professional, accountable, and collaborative manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related discipline preferred
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing KPIs
- Working knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 quality systems preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
- Ability to drive accountability and build high-performing teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and business reporting skills preferred
