Chemours is seeking a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Operations Communications Specialist to support our Titanium Technologies business. This position will report directly to Global Business Communications Leader.
The Operations Communications Specialist is a critical role within the Communications function leading community employee communications, reputation management, media relations, crisis/issues communications and community engagement for multiple manufacturing and mining sites in the U.S. and Mexico. The role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing employees and local stakeholders understand Chemours' strategy, priorities, and commitments to safety, integrity, and operational excellence.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support key global internal communications initiatives across the Titanium Technologies business in partnership with the Global Business Communications Leader (e.g. global business town halls)
- Implementation of the external and internal communication strategy of the assigned manufacturing sites (U.S. and Mexico)
- Serving as strategic advisor to site leadership and business manufacturing leadership, providing counsel and recommendations on all internal and external communications
- Support plant leadership as content development and execution partner town halls, talking points, organizational announcements, content for closed circuit TVs, toolkits, FAQs, templates, etc.
- Maintain and continue to refresh plant communications assets and collateral including websites, SharePoint sites, one pagers, posters, swag, etc. in accordance with strategy.
- Supporting the integration of communications plans from multiple sources (e.g. leadership, corporate, business, functions) into a unified communication approach that is relational and meets the needs of manufacturing employees.
- Developing and implementing communications plans for critical initiatives
- Supporting communications for crisis/issues including maintaining an up-to-date and relevant response plan, sitting on the Emergency Operations Committee at each site, media monitoring during, and post-event, and adapting plans as needed.
- Building and maintaining relationships with local media partners; identify opportunities for media engagement and support message creation and dissemination
- Supporting each site’s Community Advisory Panel and helping plant leadership identify, build, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the local communities
- Leading and/or supporting community outreach initiatives, including programs related to the company’s philanthropic and Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
