Saalt is seeking an experienced Head of Warehouse and Operations to lead our warehouse and ops teams and functions as we expand across DTC, Amazon, and wholesale channels. This role will own inventory control, receiving, B2B and B2C fulfillment, logistics, systems, shipping, and compliance—including warehouse strategy and wholesale chargeback reduction. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end order-to-cash process for all Saalt products and will build the infrastructure and team needed to support our next stage of growth.
As a strategic and hands-on operator, you will partner cross-functionally with finance, sales, customer experience, and tech teams to build a resilient, efficient, and data-driven operations engine. Your leadership will ensure we deliver best-in-class service across all channels while scaling efficiently and sustainably.
What You’ll Do:
Fulfillment & Logistics
- Lead all fulfillment center operations including inbound receiving, warehouse layout and put-away, picking, packing, shipping (wholesale, amazon, DTC), returns, and reverse logistics with clear SOP’s.
- Establish industry-leading efficiency metrics, set goals and processes to achieve those metrics and coach the team and execute to deliver predictable and efficient output. Examples include KPIs such as units per hour, order cycle time, on-time ship rate, and cost per order.Â
- Utilize AI to automate and improve processes and reduce overhead.
- Deliver high service levels for same-day, next-day, and peak-season order fulfillment (e.g., holidays, promotions).Â
- Ensure high order accuracy, fast cycle times, and consistent customer experience across all channels.Â
- Build and lead a high-performing leadership team in a 24/7 or extended-hours environment.
- Manage labor forecasting, flex staffing models, and capacity planning to meet demand volatility.Â
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all OSHA and workplace safety standards.Â
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for service failures and customer escalations.Â
- Own the site budget, including labor, freight, packaging, maintenance, and capital expenditures.Â
- Track and report site performance to senior leadership with clear action plans.Â
- Partner with E-Commerce, Merchandising, Transportation, Customer Experience, HR, Finance, Regulatory, and IT teams.
- Oversee and optimize the entire order flow from NetSuite through fulfillment (Shopify, Amazon, EDI, and shipping).
- Lead all third-party logistics and operations relationships, including contract negotiations, SLA enforcement, KPI tracking, and issue resolution.
NetSuite & Systems
- Own operational system integrity across inventory, fulfillment, and order management in NetSuite.
- Oversee end-to-end order flow and integrations from NetSuite through Shopify, Amazon, SPS Commerce (EDI), and our WMS.
- Govern item master data, BOMs, routings, and units of measure to maintain accurate, scalable records.
- Partner with the NetSuite admin and Finance to streamline processes, improve reporting, and reduce error rates.
Wholesale & Compliance
- Lead operational onboarding of wholesale accounts, including routing compliance and EDI setup.
- Own wholesale compliance and chargeback reduction, proactively resolving ASN, invoice, and chargeback issues.
- Oversee and improve quality system compliance, including adherence to FDA and ISO 13485 standards.
Operational Planning & Scaling
- Own capacity planning with internal teams to support forecasted growth and seasonal spikes.
- Own the operations budget, including labor, freight, packaging, maintenance, and capital expenditures, and deliver productivity gains and cost-per-order improvements without sacrificing service.
- Identify bottlenecks and lead cross-functional initiatives to automate and improve workflows.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies or vendors to support scaling needs.
