- Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
- Secure the work area and posts proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
- Installs and replaces carpet and tile throughout the building as necessary.
- Cleans and maintains hard surfaces, carpeted areas, and upholstered furniture.
- Mops (dry and damp), buffs, and burnishes hard surface floors.
- Vacuums, shampoos, bonnets, and extracts carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and orders replacements as necessary. Maintains cleaning schedules and maintenance records.
- Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance on specialty floor equipment.
- Monitors Floor Care Technician floors for cleanliness and damage.
- Secures all equipment and supplies in proper storage areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals for floor/carpet cleaning equipment.
- Ability to operate floor/carpet cleaning equipment upon training (if necessary).
- Ability to remove or install carpet tile, PVC tile, and other floor treatments properly.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment according to manuals and supervisor’s direction.
- Ability to complete and maintain records.
- Ability to inspect floors to determine any problems.
