As a Technical Program Manager at Google, youโ€™ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Youโ€™ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure (hyperscale data centers, semiconductor fabrication facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, or critical power/cooling plants) from the ground-up through commissioning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
  • Experience building, onboarding, or mentoring technical project teams (e.g., field engineers, cost managers, technical writers, document controllers), especially in high-growth environments.
  • Experience managing multi-building campus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver optimized program communication plans including executive and key partner communications.ย 
  • Determine phasing and metrics associated with program lifecycle that effectively address continuous improvement, including resource stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources) and near- and long-term objectives.
  • Determine and collect data required to govern programs and effectively drive stakeholder decision-making.ย 
  • Anticipate change management requirements that are required by program stakeholders.ย 
  • Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of executive cross-functional leads and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
