Accounting Manager (Construction) – Cleanup Project | Onsite Portland, OR | Interim Contract

Location: Onsite – Portland, OR
Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Compensation: $70-80 per hour

Overview

Beech Valley is seeking anAccounting Manager for aninterim, short-term cleanup engagement supporting a consulting firm client inPortland, OR. This role is best suited for someone who can quickly assess what’s incomplete or messy, bring structure to the work, and drive tasks to completion in a controlled and audit-ready way.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a short-termaccounting cleanup effort, prioritizing and executing high-impact fixes quickly

• Review and strengthen reconciliations, account support, and close-related deliverables

• Identify gaps in documentation and controls, then implement practical improvements

• Partner with stakeholders to clarify ownership, timelines, and dependencies

• Support and operate effectively in aSOX-aware control environment (ensuring workpapers and approvals are audit-ready)

What We’re Looking For

• Accounting Manager-level experience (industry and/or public accounting background)

• Prior experience inconstruction accounting strongly preferred

• Comfort working inSOX control environments (controls, documentation, evidence, approvals)

• Strong operational accounting skills (reconciliations, cleanup, close support)

• Able to work onsite and move fast with minimal hand-holding
