The position has significant shared leadership with the Area Ministry Director within a region and has spiritual leadership and pastoral supervisory responsibility. The context of the position is a campus Area Ministry Team.AREAS OF FOCUS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Personal Spiritual Duties
- Be a maturing discipleof Jesus Christ: growinginlove for God,God'sWord, God'speople of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposesin theworld.
- Practice daily spiritual disciplines
- Pursue spiritual relationships and involvement in a worshipping community
- Continue learning and growth in spiritual understanding, biblical knowledge, ministry experience and skills
- Experience and live out an ongoing call to ministry service with InterVarsity and its mission
Ministry Leadership
- Participate and be fullyengagedinthe area ministryteam to set spiritualvision anddirection,to contributeto the accomplishmentofthe ministryteam’splans for spiritual growth and transformation,and to provide area leadershipin specific areas
- Leadin ministry to studentsand faculty on campusin her/his areaof focus
- Promoteand pressforwardthe mission on campus (Toadvance witnessing communitiesthat arebolder,broader, and more ethnicallydiverse)
Seek opportunities to proclaimand demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus ChristGuide chaptersin the developmentofstrategic thinking regarding witness to the universitywithin the focusedarea of ministry.
  Model and assist studentsand facultyin growingin their love for God's peopleof every ethnicity and culture
- Encourage a prayerfullifestyle in students andfaculty, especially focusingon thosewho donotyet follow Jesus asLord andSavior
- Teachstudents to love, studyand apply Scripture to their lives
- Engage positively with the supervisionyou receive fromyour staffdirector
Pastoral Supervision
- Provide pastoral support and personal development for student/teamswithin the focused area of ministry
- Providetraining, resourcesand opportunities for studentsand faculty within the focused area of ministry
- Recruit studentsand provideleadership for conferencesandprojects
Administration
Performthe necessaryadministrative tasksrequired tofulfill the purposeof InterVarsity and complywith InterVarsity’s policies and procedures
- Complywith Risk Managementpolicies
- Follow the budgetingand expense reporting guidelines
- Lead students in filing annual chapter affiliation
- Fulfill area and regional reporting requirements

Finances, Ministry Partnership Development, and Public Relations
Carryout the tasksrequired foreffective ministry partner developmentand todevelop strongpublicrelations for the ministry of InterVarsity
- Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to individual ministry partners and churches, through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishments
- Maintainexpenseswithin allocated budgets
- Cultivateand maintain relationshipswith alumni as well as currentand potential donors
- Cultivateand maintaina ministry among partners that will fund InterVarsity
- Represent InterVarsity withinthe broader Christian community through speaking engagementsandstrategic interactionwith pastors, churches, facultyand marketplaceleaders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement). Abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct. Believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper. Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation” 

- Ongoing call to InterVarsityanditsmission
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimumthreeyears’ workexperiencewith InterVarsity or another campus ministry
- Ministry skills including the ability to communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, and spiritually disciple, coach and mentor
- Developed expertise in a focused ministry
- Willing to receive ongoingtraining
- Contribute to an openand supportive relationship with ministryteam members
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent oralandwritten communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize campuswideevents
- Ability to maintain accurate recordsand files
Pay:This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual’s ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
