Mailroom Associate – Shipping & Receiving

Pay Rate: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focusedMailroom Associate to support daily mailroom, shipping, receiving, and package distribution operations at a corporate warehouse facility in Sumner, WA. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages.

• Handle daily shipping and receiving activities using various carriers.

• Prepare packages for shipment, verify packing slips, and maintain accurate records.

• Respond to customer inquiries and provide support to onsite and remote employees.

• Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and web-based systems to process requests.

• Operate hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks to move packages and materials.

• Assist with mail delivery routes and general mailroom operations.

• Troubleshoot basic shipping, receiving, and mail processing issues.

• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.

• Work independently and assist team members with changing daily priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 1–2 years of related experience in mailroom operations, shipping and receiving, warehouse support, or customer service.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Familiarity with shipping carriers, package handling, and receiving procedures preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize assignments.

• Experience operating copiers, printers, or other office equipment is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Valid driver's license and required auto insurance coverage.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable standing and walking on concrete surfaces throughout the workday.

• Ability to use hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks as needed.

Work Environment

• Corporate mailroom located within a warehouse facility.

• Small, collaborative team environment.

• Business casual or warehouse casual attire; jeans and sneakers are acceptable.

• No routine driving required.
