A Brief Summary of This Position:

As aDesign Drafter Co-op Intern, you’ll gain real-world experience contributing to the goals of our Drafting team while learning best practices from some of the most skilled engineers in the industry. You’ll have exposure to multiple areas of the business, work alongside subject matter experts, and develop valuable technical and professional skills.

Valmont’s internship program is designed to provide ahands-on learning experience through project work, job shadowing, leadership development, and interaction with senior leaders across the company.

What You’ll Do:

• Determinechanges, corrections, and requirements to meet project needs

• Createsketches for use by other designers/drafters

• Interpretspecifications and standards to ensure customer requirements are met or improved

• Communicate with customers (written and verbal) toresolve specification questions before drawings are prepared

• Collaborate with team members todevelop shop drawings and provide project input

• Perform other essential tasks as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• CAD skills, including design applications and the ability to convert drawings to 3D models

• Proficiency withMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Strongcommunication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal

• Ability towork effectively in a team environment

• Demonstratedproblem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Preferred:

• Enrolled in anaccredited college or university pursuing a degree in Drafting & Design

• Autodesk Inventor experience
