Your Mission:

The Director, Executive Communications serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer, responsible for developing and executing high-impact communication strategies that advance the organization's mission, values, culture, and business objectives. This role ensures consistent, effective, and authentic messaging across all verbal, written, digital, and executive communications, strengthening engagement with internal and external stakeholders. 


Acting as a trusted advisor and liaison for the CEO, the Communications Director manages executive messaging, thought leadership, and key communications initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing, storytelling, and communication expertise with strong judgment, creativity, and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Partner closely with the chief executive officer to create all written and visual communications materials. This includes speeches, presentations, letters, announcements, articles, social media, blog posts and video scripts, among other materials. Extensive focus on speeches and large group presentations. 
  • Writes strategic communication plans and creative briefs, researches and analyzes information; Prepares the following communications: PowerPoint and video presentations, webinars, speeches, press releases, articles, editorials and talking points; 
  • Translates ideas, objectives, corporate position and management philosophy into messaging that relates to the topic, speaker and intended audience; 
  • Engages and coordinates across executive stakeholders and subject-matter experts to ensure strategic business objectives are supported through integrated communications programs that effectively represent the CEO’s perspectives and meet business needs; 
  • Provide advice and counsel to the chief executive officer regarding communications; 
  • Participate in brainstorming meetings with the chief executive officer around the development of communication for various business reasons; 
  • Conduct research to support the creation of the chief executive officer’s communication materials; including working closely with the communications team with regard to consistency in branding, imaging and messaging; 
  • May act as a spokesperson on behalf of the CEO for various audiences including colleagues and franchisees; 
  • Collaborate across the organization to Initiate and draft responsive communication for CEO correspondence. 
  • Maintain ongoing understanding of the corporate worldwide employee and franchisee sentiment for development and implementation of communication strategies and tactics. 
  • Provide executive communications support to the Vice Chairman, as needed, including the development of speeches, presentations, correspondence, talking points, and other strategic communications materials that align with corporate priorities and leadership objectives. 
  • Conducts appropriate needs assessment and audience analysis to support effective development of communications programs and materials for the CEO. 
  • Develop measurable metrics, monitor and evaluate results of communications programs to track progress and ensure continuous improvement. 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors’ degree in English, journalism or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of communications-related work experience, including developing and executing strategic communication plans for leadership teams creating executive speeches and messages writing. 
  • Evidence of exceptional writing and editing skills; proficient and speedy writer producing complete and quality first drafts; and detailed knowledge of AP style.  
  • Experience providing advice to senior leaders on communication topics.  
  • Evidence of proficiency in software applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and SharePoint

  • Ability to build credibility and trust by demonstrating high ethical standards. Extreme discretion, as work involves confidential and sensitive information. 
  • Executive presence and comfort in all interactions with colleagues, senior-level management and critical external stakeholders.  
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment. Ability to work independently/self-starter. 
  • The ability to accurately gather, repeat and share information in a timely manner to meet deadlines.  
  • Demonstrate a proactive, supportive “pitch in” attitude when the communications team is faced with a priority deadline and share your own knowledge for the betterment of the team and the company. 
  • Must have a passion for the profession, desire to grow professionally and a general interest in learning. 

Where You'll Work:

  • Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays, on occasion.
  • Primarily works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
  • This position requires the ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time and occasionally work in excess of 40 hours and may work non-traditional business hours.  Some exposure to restaurant conditions.  Temperature, noise, and the like may be unlike those conditions found in an office environment.
  • This position requires extreme discretion, as the Communications Director will be working with highly confidential material.
  • Must be willing to undergo an extensive background check.
