Role Overview
As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the health of our patients, staff, and community by planning, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control measures. You will support clinical teams across the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices to minimize the spread of infections and improve patient outcomes.

What You Will Do
- Monitor and investigate known or suspected sources of infections to determine the source and ensure control.
- Review, analyze, and implement regulations, standards, and guidelines from governmental agencies and professional organizations.
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of educational programs and tools related to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology.
- Report infection surveillance, prevention, and control information to local, state, and federal public health authorities as required by law.
- Participate in special studies to identify epidemic situations or evaluate the impact of new products, equipment, or patient care delivery methods, and report results to relevant committees.
What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certification specializing in Infection Control credentialed from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) or Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing.
- CIC preferred, motivated, works well with others include c-suite and front line staff.
- Infection prevention acute care experience preferred.
