Responsibilities Include:
As a Language Instructor, you will:
Deliver3–5 hours of daily instruction in courses ranging fromILR levels 0–3.
Complete training and become acertified language tester, with expectations to conduct3–4 language proficiency assessments weekly.
The position is responsible forinstructing students in speaking a foreign language andunderstanding the culture of the area or country to teach culture through communication.
Instructors must be able todevelop class materials and training aids to meet customized student needs.
The contract linguist instructor(s) shall havestrong foreign language skills and will work under the direction of experienced senior trained instructors.
It is also important that candidates arefamiliar with current events in the countries where the foreign languages are spoken.Â
Once on the program, contract linguist instructors are required toreceive specific sponsor training focusing on foreign language teaching and foreign language testing in order to become certified according to Sponsor standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, foreign language, or linguistics with8– 12 years of prior relevant experience orMaster’s degree with2 – 10 yearsof prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may besubstituted in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of10 years of adult teachingexperience.
Team Teaching experience a plus.
Must score90%or higher on the English test.
Must scoreSenior level.
Degree must be obtained eitherin the U.S. or in a country where the target language is natively spoken.
Proficient inMS Office and basic internet research.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and the foreign language.
Travel 0-10%
Language Proficiency Requirements
Must pass aLEIDOS/ accepted commercial testing vendors-administered translation test (3 hours) with a score of4 or higher.
Must achieve a minimum of5/5/5 in speaking, listening, and reading on standard ILR scale.
Security Clearance Requirement
An active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph. Candidates must also beeligible for a security clearance upgrade.
Clearance must befully adjudicated before starting. Linguists can only begin work on contract with a fully adjudicated security clearance.Â
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within theU.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement.
Ability to communicate fluently and professionally inmultiple languages is highly desirable.
Prior exposure tocryptologic or national security environments a plus.
Linguists who are proficient inmultiple languages are strongly desired.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
