Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technology solutions and hold accountability for team deliverables
• Provide thought leadership and guide technical decisions across the team
• Resolve and remove technology obstacles throughout the lifecycle
• Collaborate with architects and the CTO organization on governance and best practices
• Build solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements with high quality
• Contribute to improving designs, architectures, and frameworks
• Ensure quality across data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code
• Support estimation, planning, prioritization, and dependency management
• Lead collaboration across teams and stakeholders to drive outcomes
• Apply hands-on expertise in AWS Cloud Native microservices architecture

Requirements

• Proven 8+ years designing and developing front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs in production environments
• Hands-on expertise in Java, Node.js, and SpringBoot technologies focused on APIs and microservices
• Expertise with AWS Cloud services including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and Cloudwatch
• Solid understanding of databases such as DynamoDB and Aurora
• Experience applying agile methodology and using API testing tools
• Working familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk
• Strong client-facing communication skills with confident presentation ability
• Detail-oriented mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity while keeping structure
• Leadership experience collaborating across teams such as Vanguard Database, CTO organization, and API Economy initiatives
• Capability to clarify technical uncertainty and deliver clear solutions

• Familiarity with Python programming
• Exposure to working with data pipelines in a cloud-native environment
