OFFICE SUPPORT III (PT)

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:

Provides overall administrative and operational support for the Senior Services division, assisting the supervisor and the team with daily clerical tasks, inquiries, and customer service at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(Must be able to perform either with or without reasonable accommodation)

• Assists in planning, coordinating, and executing division events, including the Senior Expo, Volunteer Luncheon, and day-to-day department activities.
• Provides front desk coverage and customer service during morning hours, serving as the primary point of contact for senior patrons and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of the basic Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
• Must be comfortable using various cloud-based applications.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to take direction and meet deadlines.
• A demonstrated attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments without close supervision.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. equivalent.

POST OFFER REQUIREMENTS: Satisfactory completion of criminal history (including sex offender registry if applicable), background check and a drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law.
