We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented professional to join our Ocean Import team, playing a key role in managing international shipments and ensuring seamless end-to-end operations.
What you will do:
Coordinating Operations with Sea freight ImportsÂ
- Timely processing of import sea documents including registration of shipments.Â
- Communicate automation details to subcontractors to report to customs.Â
- Monitor clearance and delivery of cargo within free storage/holding times.Â
- Check for special instructions on documents.Â
- Invoice and collect correct charges.Â
- Authorize delivery of sea freight.Â
- Monitor availability and in conjunction with subcontractors; ensure timely collection of cargo, check in to warehouse and report to customs.Â
- Follow up on delivery with truckers.Â
Financial and Accounting ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Approve freight invoices and credit notes, monitor transport waiting time costs.Â
- Pay carrier local charges and any other related costs upon arrival.Â
- Prepare payment vouchers, write checks for authorization.Â
- Processes sea freight debtors & creditors in an expeditious manner.Â
- Ensures the department (cost center) achieves its financial and quality objectives.Â
Client and Supplier ManagementÂ
- Resolves discrepancies, while keeping records of discrepancies via the Innovations and Incidents Management (IIM) to ensure compliance.Â
What you bring:
- High school graduate; some college preferredÂ
- Knowledge of related computer applicationsÂ
- Familiar with basic freight forwarding proceduresÂ
- Up to two years of previous related experienceÂ
- Exceptional customer services skillsÂ
- EDI experienceÂ
- Attention to detailÂ
- Excellent Time management and problem-solving abilityÂ
- Able to meet deadlinesÂ
- Shows professionalism while remaining calm under pressureÂ
- Customer focusedÂ
- Excellent Communication skillsÂ
- Team orientatedÂ
