Location: Bay Area, CA

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilledObservability Engineer to design, implement, and manage observability solutions across distributed systems and cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in monitoring, logging, tracing, and performance optimization, ensuring high system reliability and availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions includingmetrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and SLIs/SLOs for critical systems.
• Work closely with SRE, DevOps, and development teams to improve system visibility and performance.
• Integrate observability tools withinKubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Troubleshoot production issues using observability data and perform root cause analysis.
• Automate observability pipelines and improve alerting mechanisms to reduce noise.
• Ensure best practices for logging, instrumentation, and monitoring across applications.
• Support incident management and post-mortem analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Observability, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• Strong experience with tools such as:
  • Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Experience withdistributed tracing tools like Jaeger or Zipkin.
• Hands-on experience withcontainerization (Docker) andKubernetes.
• Strong scripting/programming skills inPython, Go, or Bash.
• Experience withCI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Knowledge ofcloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding ofmicroservices architecture and system design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withOpenTelemetry for instrumentation.
• Familiarity withServiceNow ITOM/ITSM integrations.
• Knowledge ofInfrastructure as Code tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
