WHO YOU ARE:
You are an analytical and detail-oriented governance professional with a strong focus on operational risk, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. You are skilled at researching complex requirements, identifying operational risks and process gaps, and translating information into clear, actionable recommendations. You build trusted partnerships, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and use data and sound judgment to strengthen governance practices, drive accountability, and support operational excellence.



WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Conduct formal risk assessments for assigned Service Operations business areas, including research, stakeholder interviews, data gathering, risk statement development, documentation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with business leaders, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Legal, and other stakeholders to evaluate operational risk, regulatory requirements, and governance impacts.
  • Research applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry practices and translate requirements into clear findings, recommendations, and governance documentation.
  • Support issue management by tracking open issues, management action plans, remediation activities, due dates, supporting evidence, and closure documentation. Escalate delays, gaps, and emerging concerns as appropriate.
  • Support governance programs, including disclosure management, complaints management, records retention, policy governance, audit and examination readiness, and other assigned governance initiatives.
  • Review policies, procedures, disclosures, marketing and communication materials, and related documentation for accuracy, consistency, operational alignment, and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate annual and event-driven reviews of applicable Service Operations policies and governance documentation. Work with business areas to gather information, document updates, and resolve identified gaps.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, emerging risks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Develop dashboards, reports, heat maps, and other management reporting as needed.
  • Prepare concise reports, presentations, and recommendations for varying levels of the organization, including management and senior leadership.
  • Provide governance, risk, and compliance guidance to Service Operations business areas within the scope of the role. Promote clear ownership, timely execution, and accountability for required actions.
  • Participate in departmental and enterprise projects to assess governance, regulatory, policy, disclosure, and operational impacts. Support implementation, communication, and training activities as needed.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, leadership, business partners, regulators, and vendors to support Credit Union objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the position, including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



QUALIFICIATIONS AND PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field preferred. Additional relevant work experience may be considered when the individual demonstrates the knowledge and skill required for the position. required
  • 5+ years of related experience in governance, operational risk, regulatory compliance, issue management, policy governance, quality assurance, audit support, or project management required. Financial institution experience preferred
