Process and Project Engineer

Summary:

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop technical and economic studies for the implementation of new products at the plant, evaluating installed capacity, process conditions, investment requirements, and other production variables that may impact the new process.
• Prepare and simulate cost analyses for the local production of new products or for improving the contribution margin of existing products, assessing the various variables involved and proposing viable alternatives.
• Follow all EHS procedures. Achieve all annual EHS objectives. Ensure zero non-conformities in EHS audits and promote the communication of health, safety, and environmental risks.
• Lead PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies.
• Provide technical and operational support to technical, commercial, and production areas regarding root cause analyses of non-conformities or process instabilities identified during production monitoring, proposing immediate corrective actions.
• Participate in the supplier development process for raw materials and service providers by providing technical guidance and training.
• Propose, participate in, and monitor process developments and improvements aimed at ensuring manufacturing safety and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the entire process of manufacturing or modifying, testing, and installing new machinery and equipment, clarifying production-related issues and initiating corrective actions or necessary modifications.
• Support technology transfer activities by working with cross-functional teams to analyze and implement global work processes.
• Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), defining best practices for the safe operation of all production processes at the plant.
• Provide technical support to the production area regarding root cause analyses of non-conformities related to customer complaints.
• Support Production Engineering in corrective actions and manufacturing order yield improvements.
• Deliver training on operational procedures and new processes to employees involved.
• Validate production processes and generate the required documentation.
• Enter and maintain updated formulations in the system in accordance with global data standards.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using the company's established methodologies.
• Lead new equipment and process projects (CAPEX), being responsible for installation and start-up activities, with the objective of improving site quality and competitiveness.
• Ensure that all new equipment, procedures, information, and training programs are properly implemented and documented.
• Support economic feasibility studies for plant expansions, including facilities and layout assessments.
• Comply with all internal and regulatory EHS and Quality requirements.

Qualifications:

The following arerequiredfor the role

• Bachelor’s or university degree in the field of chemical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial processes
• Advanced proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats across teams and with key stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to effectively use common tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook in a professional work environment.
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, with experience applying structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and statistical analysis tools to identify root causes, improve processes, and drive sustainable operational improvements.

The following arepreferredfor the role

• Strong knowledge of process safety principles and practices, with an understanding of how process safety considerations are incorporated into manufacturing operations, engineering activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Technical knowledge of silicone manufacturing and production processes, including familiarity with the equipment, technologies, and process considerations associated with silicone or related chemical manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, with experience supporting the planning, evaluation, coordination, or implementation of capital projects within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
