ABOUT THE JOB
TheMedical Massage Therapist withMarathon Healthis responsible for treating clients by usingtherapeutictouch to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, and aid in the general wellness of clients. The medical massage therapist will collaborate withother medical providers toassist withcare.In addition, theMedical Massage Therapistwillassist in client initiatives at the worksite supporting wellness initiatives and otherrequested worksite support.Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Talk with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results. Evaluate clients tolocate painful or tense areas of the body and develop a plan of care.Â
- Collaboratewithphysician, PA/NP, physical and occupational therapists, and/orchiropractor toprovide theappropriate care, massage techniques, and treatment.Â
- Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture. Â
- Document client’s condition and progress in the Electronic Health Record (EcW)in a timely manner. Â
- Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion. Â
- Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used and frequency. Â
- Prepareroom, changing linens between patientsandmaintains safe and clean working environment bycomplying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Â
- Utilize touch to relieve discomfort andprovide treatment for injuries, wellness maintenance or medical conditions. Â
- Specialize in manydifferent types of massage, called modalities. These may include but are not limited toSwedish massage, deep-tissue massage, and sports massage, etc. Â
- Attendance at all Everside Health center training sessions (including EMR training).Â
- Identify community health needs and strategies to address them. Participate inworksite andclient functions as needed.Â
- Effectively communicates with interdisciplinary team in the planning and implementation of the patient’s plan of care.Â
- To schedule follow-up appointments for client employees.Â
- Perform administrative tasks associated with the position when not engaged in patient care to include but not limited to training, outreach, supply inventory and ordering. Â
- Other responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor or Office Manager. Â
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a board-approved Massage Therapy School. Mustpossess a current state Massage Therapy Licenseand meet National Certification Standards. Minimum of2 years’ experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary setting. Current BLS certification. Understanding of clinical documentation requirementsutilizing electronic medical record softwarein accordance with state, federal, and NCBTMB guidelines.  Adhere to all current regulations and laws related to massage therapy. Â
Physical stamina.Massage therapists may give several treatments during a workday and have to stay on their feet throughout massage appointments. Â
Physical strength and dexterity. Massage therapists must be strong and able to exert pressure through a variety of movements of the arms and hands when manipulating a client’s muscles. Â
Pay Range: $25.00-35.00/hr
The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level.
