Technical Superintendent - Marine

Job Description

The Technical Superintendent is the technical  consultant responsible to  the  vessel  management  team  consisting  of  captain,  chief  engineer  and  VSI  andprovides services to and monitors the vessels assigned and prepare and execute maintenance- and repairperiods, according to global standards for Fleet Management and management contracts.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads by example through complyingwith all safety procedures and practicesat all times; -All  tasks  are  to  be  performed  inaccordance  with  the  Fugro  (Standard)Vessel  Management  System  and  FleetServices Management System;
• -Reports, administrates, and controls allresponsibilities and tasks through thedesignated Computerized ManagementSystems (CMS);-Services delivered in linewith the Fugro (Standard)Vessel    ManagementSystem    and    FleetServices   ManagementSystem Quality Management-
• Ensures   compliance   with   theCompanies Quality standards;-Internal  projects  and  tasks  to  improvethe company’s performance.-Project  with  good  auditresult performance Health  Safety,  Security  &EnvironmentalManagement–
• Ensures   compliance   with   theCompanies Quality, Health, Safety  and Environmental protection policy;-Vessels/Projects    withgood HSSE statistics Fleet Management Maintenance of assigned vessel(s)
• Ensures maintenance is  in  accordancewith the applicable Rules & Regulations,industry  standards  and  the  FugroMaintenance Strategy as agreed upon inthe Ship management contract;-
• Reviews all  planned  and  repair  workscopes reported.-Is consulted by and advises the VSI andChief Engineer on technical matters.-Continuous preparation of Maintenance and  Repair  Periods  and  the  budgets thereof.
• When   assigned,  prepares   and/orcontributes to modifications-Proper project executionin line with the agreeddeliverables IT Management-
• Updates and  maintains  all  vesseldocumentation in the CMS.-
• Ensures that  the  vessel  specific  dataquality of the CMS system is in line withcompany standards.-Up  to  date  content  ofCMS systems Procurement Management

Job Requirements

• Unlimited Chief Engineer license or equivalent Experience
• Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Possess or be able to obtain valid passport.
• Have experience as a manager is preferred. 
• Have experience as asset manager, technical superintendent is preferred. 
• Seagoing or closely related experience.
• Experience with MS Office related software. 
• Fluent in Portuguese and English verbally and in writing.
