POSITION SUMMARY:  

AsaSummerHospitalityIntern, you will gain hands-on experience in one of Big Cedar Lodge’s guest-facing departments, helping create memorable experiences for our guests whilelearningthehospitalityindustryfromexperiencedprofessionals.InternshipplacementsmayincludeMarinas,Activities,Recreation,CedarCreekSpa,FunMountain,Safety&Security,Finance&Accounting,orMarketing.

Thisisapaidinternshipopportunitythatoffersvaluableprofessionaldevelopment,leadershipexposure,andreal-worldindustryexperience.On-sitehousingisavailableforinternsforaweeklyrentalfee, providing a convenient living option just steps away from the workplace and Big Cedar’samenities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Participate inWeekly hospitality training courses that may review various hospitality managementskills including but not limited tofinance, marketing, customer service,procurement,etc 

• Actively work in assigned businessarea in a safe manner. 

• Participate ingroup project withassigned mentor that may be implemented through the property. Topics may vary from year to year.  

• All other duties as assigned  

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Minimum Degree Required:  ​High School Diploma or Equivalent​  

• Mustbe entering junior or senior year of college, with a minimum of 60 credits completed  

• Preferred Degree of study: Hospitality Management,Sports & Recreation, Business Management, Marketing       

• Certificate(s) or License(s): None 

• Years of experience:      0  yearsrequired      

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITY:  

• Previous experience inworking or volunteering with school age children 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests andassociatesat all levels 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively 

• CPR certification and basic first aid training preferred 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  

• N/A 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Occasionally sits, lifts up to 50 lbs., and does computer work.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:  

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed bysupervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
