Lead, Systems Engineer

The Lead,Systems Engineering, will be a senior member and of a team accountable for the uptime and management of all SPE Global Enterprise Server Infrastructure. 

The Lead,Systems Engineering,is responsible for analysis, design, and development of enterprise systems and senior level technical expert for production of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Global Server Technology environment. This position has a strong emphasis on enterprise system analysis, design,architectures and project management. 

This position requires an emphasis on problem management, project management as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with the IT Organizations, clients and vendors. Fulfillment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimumto no supervision. 

Responsibilities: 

• Senior team member ona team of Global Server Technology Team. 

• Perform installations and configurations of multiple virtualization technologies and Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.) 

• Establish standards for server hardware and operating systems. 

• Establish server usage policies and communicate policies to affected audience(s). 

• Develop performance management procedures for server infrastructure. 

• Manage andmaintain serverresources,globally, throughout the enterprise. 

• Manage IT Staff relationships toinsure service levels and availability of all servers. 

• Manage outages,identify rootcause and resolve all server issues withinallowed service levels.

• Participate in the daily production meeting to report the status of production systems. 

• Participate in thechange control, productionacceptance and event management processes. 

• Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies. 

• Participate in the development ofa viable, cost-effective disaster recovery capability. 

• Develop report monthly statistics and progress against internal and external service levels. 

• Manage Server capacity and provide serverutilization statistics to the capacity planner. 

• Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers 

Requirements: 

• Minimum 8years employment in the IT industry working witha major systems and vendors. 

• Minimum 5years experience in deploying,managing andmaintaining Cloud Services on one or more of the 3 major CSPs (AWS/Azure/GCP). 

• Minimum 5years experience as an Intel and/or x86 systems administrator. 

• Minimum 8years experience with Windows and Linux operatingsystemrequired. 

• Minimum 3years experience with Virtualization OS (VMWare, Power VM, Oracle VM)required. 

• Minimum 3years experience with multi-tiered application developmentrequired. 

Technical Skills Required: 

• Computer Networking Concepts: switching/routing/firewalls 

• Hands on recent experience with Cloud technologies and service from the top 3 CSPs (AWS/Azur/GCP) 

• Linux OS: Systems working knowledge, bash/python scripting, ansible/other config mgmt. tools 

• Windows OS: Group Policy, Windows registry, protocols, configmgmt tools 

• Virtualization: SDDC/SDN/SDS concepts preferably in VMware/Nutanix products 

• IaC/DevOps tools: Jenkins/Github/Terraform etc. 

• System Design: ER diagram, n-tier arch,expertise in any architecture drawing tools 

• Contextual knowledge of AI technologies andit’s practical implementations in real world and how it applies to system engineering and operations 

• Project management: Waterfall/Agile, ROI, FRD/BRD/TRD, CBA/budgeting 

• Experience working with RDMS, No-SQL platforms and other common Database platforms. 

• Two or more years of entertainment experience is a plus. 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent experience preferred. 

• Able to travel about 10% of the time.
