THE ROLE

Performance Improvement (PI) Practice within Nordic’s Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) is responsible for helping healthcare organizations address some of their most challenging strategic, clinical, and operational problems for clients across the healthcare ecosystem.

Members within our PI project teams wear multiple hats to deliver quality work, including building insightful data analyses, gathering requirements, mapping workflows, designing use cases, and researching the latest changes impacting the healthcare industry. As such, our Managers are expected to:

  • Think creatively and support the delivery of a wide range of strategic initiatives
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills as they work closely with client end-users, technical developers, clinical providers, and senior leadership
  • Demonstrate qualitative and quantitative management consulting skills
  • Structure and lead small projects or critical workstreams on large implementations
  • Facilitate client-facing meetings and build relationships with client counterparts

With guidance and mentorship from project and practice leadership, the Manager role provides individuals with extensive opportunities to gain experience across clinical, financial, patient experience, and technical solutions sought after within the healthcare industry to improve wellness and care for all. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A Manager within PI will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  • Partner with PI team members toimplement advisory solutions and demonstrate the value of the solution throughout the client engagement
  • Manage time efficiently and work onmultiple concurrent projects part-time with competing priorities and timelines
  • Ownproject management artifacts (workplans, status reports, decision and risk logs) anddrive the development of key deliverables
  • Createcomplex analytical models using advanced tools (e.g., SlicerDicer, PowerBI, CoPilot) to drive unique solutions to complex healthcare problems
  • Develop detailedfinancial analysis, statistical reports, visualizations, and presentations for both internal team and client review
  • Leadclient interviews and meetings
  • Conduct detailed analyses toidentify specific opportunities for improvement, as well as implementation recommendations
  • Consistently deliver work products that arehigh-quality and client-ready
  • Contribute topractice knowledge capital and tool development
  • Develop and update relatedwork plans, issue logs, status reports, and related initiative trackers.
  • Review andvalidate conducted analyses and client deliverables before submission
  • Completequality reviews on team member work products before delivery to client personnel, validating team member findings and observations, and corroborate team member process improvement and analytic activities
  • Manage and mentor resources both within projects and across the PI Practice
  • Establishcompetency and expertise across multiple PI solutions (e.g., patient access, revenue cycle, application portfolio modernization)
  • Demonstrate and embodyNordic’s maxims

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Industry

  • Bachelor’s degree required,Master’s degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Data Sciences, or related fields
  • 7+ years of experience in the healthcare industry (e.g.,hospital administration,strategic planning, PMO, management consulting)
  • Operational knowledge in at least a few of the following business or revenue cycle areas:hospital finance, supply chain, HR, decision support, clinical informatics, patient access, registration, HIM, coding, revenue integrity, billing, and denials management

  • Ability towork independently as well as within ateam environment

  • Attention to detail and able to quickly pivot assignments based onchanging priorities
  • Strongexecutive presence (i.e., comfortable speaking and presenting to leadership)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional resources and teams

Core Software Skills

  • Strong expertise usingMicrosoft Office products
  • Experience working withEMR (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) orERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Infor)
  • Demonstrated knowledge using some of the following tools:
    • GenAI Assistants (CoPilot)
    • Analytical (PowerBI, Tableau)
    • Programming languages (SQL, Python)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Travel up to 20-30% of the time
