Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead

Guru Pay is an EMI based in Lithuania, with a mission to deliver personalized, boutique financial services to B2B, B2C, and C2B customers. We are highly ambitious - focusing on speed, security, and top-tier quality in everything we do.

We are looking for aSenior Full-Stack Engineer / Tech Lead to take technical ownership of one of our core product areas, such as customer onboarding, Internet Bank, or mobile.

This is ahands-on engineering role. You will set the technical direction while spending most of your time designing, building, reviewing, and running production software across backend, web, and mobile.

You will work alongside anEngineering Manager, who owns the team, people, capacity, and delivery. You will own thetechnical side of the area - architecture, engineering quality, technical risk, and production readiness.

What will you do?

• Own thetechnical direction and architecture of your product area, keeping it aligned with the product roadmap.
• Writeproduction code across backend, frontend, and mobile - hands-on engineering will make up most of the role.
• Take on the hardest technical challenges, especially those crossing services, applications, or teams.
• Make architecture decisions aroundservice boundaries, APIs, contracts, and data flows, and clearly communicate the trade-offs behind them.
• Set the standard forcode quality, reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering practices across the team.
• Identify technical risks early and make pragmatic trade-offs betweenspeed, maintainability, security, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with Product, Engineering, Platform/DevOps, Compliance, Risk, Security, and external partners to deliver solutions that are technically sound and production-ready.
• Ownobservability and production health, participate in incidents, and ensure follow-up improvements are completed.
• Reduce technical debt and knowledge silos, ensuring critical systems do not depend on a single person.
• Help the team adoptAI coding agents, automation, and shared engineering tooling effectively.

What we expect

• 7+ years building and running production web systems, with experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or senior technical owner within an engineering team.
• Strong hands-on expertise withPHP/Laravel and React/TypeScript.
• Genuinefull-stack experience - comfortable owning backend services as well as customer-facing frontend applications.
• Experience designingAPIs, distributed systems, service boundaries, and asynchronous architectures.
• Experience owning software end-to-end: fromarchitecture and implementation through testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
• Comfortable working with asecond backend language - Go is the one that applies here.
• Strong understanding ofautomated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and production reliability.
• Ability to make and clearly explain technical decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Business-level communication fluency in English.

Nice to have

• React Native / Expo experience, including shipping mobile apps through app stores.
• Experience inFinTech, banking, payments, or another regulated environment.
