We are seeking a Engineering Manager to collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and coordination, cost control, schedule adherence, and high-quality deliverables.

The Team
This position is part of the NEXII Engineering, Product Development & Project Management Team. This team connects our construction customers’ needs with our production facilities. Made up of engineers, project managers, Revit techs, and CAD designers, we take building design concepts and turn them into manufacturable panelized systems. Whether it’s refining designs, solving technical challenges, or coordinating with production, we ensure everything flows smoothly from idea to installation.

Position Summary

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for guiding the organization to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality project and product designs. They will be involve in all stages of the project life cycle; from conceptual design and structural analysis, through drawing production, manufacturing, and final assembly on site. The role will support decisions related to future product development and improvements by applying robust, quantitative engineering analyses and sound technical judgment. They will oversee the technical design, development, and testing of Nexii products to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and overall business objectives. Collaboration will also be essential, as the role require to work closely with sales, design, manufacturing, assembly, and other internal teams to ensure that engineering requirements and considerations are incorporated at all stages of product development and project delivery. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop standards, design tools, and technical specifications for current and future Nexii products to streamline project delivery.
  
• Communicate engineering concepts and designs with teams and individuals from diverse technical backgrounds, both internally and externally, in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify and resolve technical problems, troubleshoot issues, and find practical solutions.
• Review and support the production of drawings and project documentation necessary for fabrication, permit submission, third-party review, and construction.
• Provide structural engineering services as the Structural Engineer of Record and coordinate with third-party engineering consultants acting on Behalf of Nexii.
• Review and prepare evaluation reports, presentations, construction documents, proposals, and other technical documentation.
• Support the manufacturing team with execution of plant and process improvements.
• Support the sales and marketing team with guidelines, product specifications, and technical support throughout the proposal, estimation, and contract processes.
  
• Recognize the importance of collaborative design and work constructively with all project stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure successful project delivery.

Education, Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or eligible through transfer from another Canadian jurisdiction.
• Minimum 7-10 years of structural building design experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian building codes and material standards; additional familiarity with US codes and standards is an asset.
• Strong technical experience with steel, concrete, and wood construction; multiple materials are an asset.
• Strong structural connection design and detailing experience.
• Experience with pre-fabricated and/or panelized building systems is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated project and leadership experience.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas, concepts or structural designs through drawings, sketches, reports,
• instructions, calculations, models, or other appropriate methods.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, or equivalent.
• Experience with MathCAD, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and/or other drafting and modelling software is considered an asset.
