New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is seeking a reliable, professional, and safety-consciousMedical Delivery Driver to support our Department of Corrections Program.


The Medical Delivery Driver is responsible for the secure, timely, and professional transportation of medications, medication records, and related materials between agency locations and approved correctional or healthcare destinations. The driver will maintain chain of custody, follow security and confidentiality requirements, complete required documentation, and promptly report any incidents, delays, discrepancies, or safety concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up sealed medications, paperwork, and related items only from authorized agency staff.
  • Confirm the route, destination, contact person, and delivery instructions before departure.
  • Inspect the vehicle before each route and document findings.
  • Maintain custody and security of medications and related materials during transport.
  • Never leave medications unattended in the vehicle or transfer them to an unauthorized person.
  • Present required identification and follow all correctional facility entry, parking, search, and handoff procedures.
  • Obtain required signatures, names, dates, and delivery times from authorized receiving staff.
  • Immediately report discrepancies, damaged packages, missing items, delays, security concerns, accidents, or vehicle breakdowns.
  • Return completed delivery logs, receipts, unused materials, and incident reports to the agency at the end of the route.
  • Use the agency gas card appropriately and submit receipts according to agency procedures.
  • Follow AAA and internal escalation procedures for roadside emergencies.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and confidential approach at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the service area.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Strong time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed security, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Schedule

Flexible Part-Time: 15–20 hours per week
Weekday morning/afternoon shifts with occasional weekend availability.
