Neuroscientist - in vivo electrophysiology
About the company
Cahira Technologies Inc is an MIT spinoff company founded by Prof. Deblina Sarkar (https://web.mit.edu/deblina-sarkar/). We are building novel sub-cellular sized wireless electronic devices that seamlessly integrate with the brain, enabling brain-computer symbiosis beyond conventional brain-computer interfaces.
About the role
We are seeking a neuroscientist with strong in vivo experience, particularly in electrophysiological techniques.Hands-on expertise in performing in vivo electrical recordings (LFP, Action Potential) using implanted intracranial electrodes in live animals (mice and/or rats) is essential. Applicantsmust have demonstrated experience in this area to be considered.
Our primary research involves rodent models (mice and rats), with plans to expand into large animal studies in the near future. Experience with any of the following methods is highly valued but not mandatory: patch clamp (in cultured cells or brain slices), fiber photometry, two-photon calcium imaging, and optogenetics. Familiarity with neuromodulation or studies of neural plasticity using electrical stimulation is also desirable.
Additional experience with non-invasive imaging techniques—such as fMRI, DTI, PET, or MEG—is considered a plus but is not required.
Applicants should have a solid foundation in neuroscience with a strong understanding of neural circuits.
Important: Please include a separate section titled"Skills" in your CV, clearly listing your in vivo, in vitro, and other relevant scientific/technical competencies.
