About the role
Globalpundits is hiring a Network Engineer for a multi-year technology program with a client in the regulated energy sector. You'll independently design, implement and maintain network infrastructure for the team's environment, covering connectivity, performance and security of network systems.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure with limited supervision
- Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and wireless networks
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately to highly complex connectivity and performance issues
- Implement and maintain network security controls, segmentation and access policies
- Monitor network performance and capacity, and recommend improvements
- Lead specific network tasks or workstreams and guide junior engineers
What we're looking for
- 4–8 years of experience administering enterprise or plant-floor network infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPN and wireless technologies (for example Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN and security layers
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification preferred; CCNP is a plus
- Experience with network monitoring tools and change management
