Role Overview 

WearehiringaDatacenterEngineertosupportthemissioncriticalinfrastructurethatpowersourmarkets,marketdataservices and member connectivity responsible from all aspects ofCboe’s datacenter physical footprint. This is a hands-on roleresponsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all datacenter hardware, cabling, and supporting infrastructure across our colocation facilities. 

This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, organized, comfortable in datacenter settings, and eager to grow within a highlyreliable,missioncriticalenvironmentandexperiencedperforminglargescaleMAC(Moves,Adds,Changes)activities.You will collaborate regularly with Engineering, Operations, and NOC teams. 

Pleasenote:Candidate selected for this role must be willing to work on site at our Chicago, Illinois area Data Centers.

Shift Requirements 

This role will require you to be available for the following late shift schedule, which is subject to change. This is a 2nd shift position, Tuesday through Saturday. The role follows a 5-day, 8-hour workweek, with shifts scheduled between Tuesday and Saturday. Standard 2nd shift hours are 2:00pm to 11pm.

Inthisrole, you willbe responsiblefor: 

• Installandmaintainservers,networkdevices,storagesystems,andassociatedcablingandcrossconnectivity 

• Performstructuredcabling(copper,MMF,SMF),includingtesting,routing,labeling,anddocumentation 

• ExecutedailyMACtasksincludingequipmentinstalls,moves,andrack/cableupgrades 

• Beourhandsandeyesinthedatacenterandreportanyenvironmentalissues(power,cooling,temperatures)andescalate to management and the provider 

• WorkwithEngineeringandNOCteamstotroubleshoothardware,applicationandconnectivityissuesdirectlyandviaJiratickets 

• Generateandmaintainequipmentinventories,rackelevations,cablemaps,anddocumentationstandards 

• Respondtodatacenterincidentsincludinghardwarefailuresandcablingissues 

• Supportnewequipmentrolloutsanddatacenterexpansionprojects 

• Assistwithvendorcoordination,shipping/receiving,RMAs,andonsiteserviceactivities 

• Supporttheongoingdevelopmentandimprovementofourglobaldatacenteroperationsstandards 

• Participateinon-callcoverageandshiftrotations 

• ResearchnewDataCenterinfrastructureequipmentadvancementsandrecommendchangesasneededtomanagement 

• Demonstratedabilitytodeliverhigh-quality,consistent,reliableworkandastrongsenseofownershipinsupportingcriticaloperations 

Theidealcandidatewillhave: 

• 5+years’experienceindatacentersupportincluding: 

• Racking,removing,cablingandtroubleshootingserver,storage,andnetworkequipmentincolocationenvironment 

• MACworkwhichincludesinstalling/movingequipmentandcablingonalarge-scale basis 

• Thecandidatewillneedtobeproficientincableplantdesignandtroubleshooting(Copper/MMF/SMF)aswellasproficient in the industry standard testing tools 

• BasicworkingknowledgeofHVAC,power,fire,buildingsecuritysystemsoperations,andsafety 

• Workingknowledgeoftelecommunicationstechnologies,systems,andcircuits 

• Abilitytoliftupto75lbsandworkinsidedatacenterenvironmentsforextendedperiods 

• Abilitytoworkindependentlyandmanagemultipletasksandprojects 

• Abilitytoworkwellinadynamicteam-orientedenvironment 

• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillswithastrongattentiontodetail 

• Abilitytomultitaskandmanagemultipleprojects 

• Teamplayer,desiringtobepartofahigh-performanceteamwithdynamicresponsibilities 

• Performotherdutiesasassignedbymanagement 

• Mustbewillingandflexibletoworkdifferentshifts(as needed tosupportthebusinessneeds) for short-to-long-term periods of time as well as participate in the On Call support rotation

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
