Description
These consultants will be used in a follow the sun model (24x7) with SS&C managing the handoffs and task/work coordination (including support response on from customer side).
Role will be directed and led by SS&C
Time Zone over location specific
Prefers CLIENT employees 1st Premier Partners 2nd
Open to “Premier” and vetted partners if no RH employee available in that region

FOCUS ON OPERATION AND ADMINISTRATOIN - CARE AND FEEDING PORTION
Uses python - not AAP as much or Ansible
Storage side - need to know if there are issues going on but there is a storage team
Not focusing on Kubernetes side as much as OpenShift side - care and feeding of a platform and migration

Key Skills & Experience
Required
OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) — hands-on administration on bare-metal on-prem (UPI/IPI), cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and multi-cluster operations.
CLIENT Advanced Cluster Management (RH-ACM) — multi-cluster fleet management: cluster lifecycle, governance, and application deployment from a central hub.
OpenShift GitOps / ArgoCD — declarative, Git-based management of cluster configuration, operators, and workloads across many clusters, including policy-driven governance.
OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-Virt / KubeVirt) — deploying and operating VMs, live migration, VM templates, and instance types.
Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) — hands-on migration experience from Client vSphere and/or RHV.
Kubernetes clusters and workloads; CLIENT Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
Guest OS breadth — both Linux and Windows VMs in containerized/virtualized environments.
Client vSphere — vCenter, ESXi, clusters, networking (vDS), and storage (vSphere datastore) — enough to plan and execute migrations from it.
Automation — CLIENT Ansible Automation Platform and/or Python for infrastructure and migration automation.
Networking & Storage fundamentals — OVN-Kubernetes, SDN, multi-path storage, ODF/Ceph, NFS/iSCSI/FC integration.
Consulting skills — customer-facing communication, workshop facilitation, documentation, expectation management, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience operating large multi-cluster estates (15+ clusters / 5,000+ VMs) across multiple data centers or availability zones.
GitOps at fleet scale — ArgoCD ApplicationSets, sync waves, and multi-tenant AppProjects; Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform); CI/CD pipeline exposure.
Policy-as-code & compliance automation — Open Policy Agent / Gatekeeper, Compliance Operator, CIS benchmark scanning, and automated remediation at fleet scale.
Observability — Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Monitoring, logging (Loki/EFK).
Live migration at scale, workload density tuning, and performance baselining on bare metal.
